Green Products

Monument Lumber only purchases lumber from modern, sustainable forests in and around California, Oregon and Washington. Nothing we stock comes from a rainforest. Sustainable forests are managed by techniques that include thinning, restoration, and replanting. For every one tree harvested, five trees must be planted in its place. A well-managed forest is vigorous and healthy, effective in preserving the watershed system and valuable for the production of timber and other forest products.

The USDA recognizes wood as a green building material. Using wood, the only entirely renewable and recyclable materials we have available to us, has tremendous implications for addressing climate change and lowering emissions. Using wood stores carbon whereas using fossil-fuel intensive materials like steel or concrete increases carbon emissions. Our goal at Monument Lumber is to offer high quality, sustainable lumber and to continue having a strong environmental conscience.

We are FSC certified to sell FSC certified products. FSC products available upon request.
